Student employment opportunities

Internships

General internships are idea for students who are:

  • Looking for an internship in a friendly, fast-paced and student-centered location
  • Interested in providing research and writing support to students in one-on-one tutoring sessions
  • Interested in developing research, writing and multimedia skills necessary for academic and professional growth

Interns can work 5 to 10 hours per week at the Writing Center. To apply, students should submit a professional resume and a one-page cover letter to the director, Amy Latawiec (amy.latawiec@wayne.edu). In the cover letter, students should explain why they are interested in the internship and what qualifications, interests and skill sets they can bring to the work. Students of any major may apply to become an intern at the Writing Center.

Internships are supervised by the Writing Center director. An end-of-semester internship evaluation will be completed by the intern and the director for documentation of work completed.

Work-study

Ideal for students who are:

  • Work-study approved and looking for an on-campus location to complete their hours
  • Looking for a friendly, fast-paced and student-centered location
  • Interested in providing research and writing support to students in one-on-one tutoring sessions
  • Interested in developing research, writing and multimedia skills necessary for academic and professional growth

Work-study students can work anywhere from 5 to 20 hours per week in the Writing Center. To apply, students should submit a resume and one-page cover letter to the director, Amy Latawiec (amy.latawiec@wayne.edu). In the cover letter, students should explain why they are interested in the position and what qualifications, interests and skill sets they can bring to the work.
